Buying Perfume

Things to know about perfume fragrances that can save you time, money,  and have you smelling simply delightful for your next outing. One of the main things to know about perfumes is how to buy them. So many women will just go on fragrance spraying binges when they hit a perfume shop, this of course is not what you want to do for a variety of reasons. You really want to take your time trying ladies fragrances on. If you have had good success with a certain brand in the past then check out what new scents that particular brand may have. The reason for this is that these brands will most likely stick with their base formula when making new scents. Since you know the base formula works well with your skins chemistry from past experience than any new womens perfume from the same company should be tried and tested first.

If you want to try a different brand only put a small amount on a portion of your skin and give it about half an hour to wear off a bit. If you like the smell after 30 minutes than it may be a winner. If you want to try multiple fragrances within the 30 minute time frame than just make sure to clean your nose’s smell pallet with a whiff of coffee beans before smelling various scents that you may have tried on.

Applying Perfume To Your Body

When putting on perfume start from the bottom of your body and work your way up. Put it on pulse points like your ankles, knees, wrists, and neck.  The pounding pulse will help to send the scent out from your body. After you have applied it to your pulse points you can spray some mist in the air around you and walk through it. This will help to give a mild over all covering. Be careful applying the perfume to your clothes or jewelry as most perfume is meant to chemically react to skin and may not be good for certain fabrics or metal jewelry.  If you find that you like a particular scent but that it is not as strong as you want, try looking for bath salts, lotion or body gel, in the same line of perfume. These can help give you a stronger long lasting smell throughout the day.

Storing Perfume Properly

The last thing to think about is where to keep ladies perfume stored. Since the average designer perfume is quite costly you really need to treat your fragrances as a personal investment. Perfumes like other chemically created substances are sensitive to temperature and light. So keeping perfume in a dark cool place is the best thing you can do to protect your investment from damage.  If your home is fairly well climate controlled than just keeping it in a vanity box or chest of drawers is fine. If your house is warmer than most, think about keeping perfumes in the dark under a bathroom sink near cool water pipes. Simply taking proper  care of your perfumes will keep them fresh and lasting longer than you can imagine.
